Points Rummy is a fast-paced variant of 13-card Rummy where players aim to get a score of zero points by forming valid sets and sequences with their cards, while opponents add points to their hands for unmelded cards. The goal is to be the first to make a valid declaration, resulting in a score of 0. Points are calculated based on the cards remaining in a player's hand: face cards (J, Q, K) are 10 points each, Aces are 1 point each, and numbered cards are worth their face value. The winner collects the points from all other players, and the game continues until a pre-decided point target is reached or a set number of rounds are played. Card Point Values Face Cards (J, Q, K): 10 points each. Ace: 1 point. Number Cards (2-10): Face value (e.g., a 7 is worth 7 points). Jokers: 0 points. How to Play 1. Deal: Each player is dealt 13 cards. 2. Start: The first card from the deck is placed face-up in the open deck to signal the start of the game. 3. Gameplay: Players take turns drawing a card from either the closed deck or the discard pile and discarding a card to end their turn. 4. Declaration: When a player has all their cards in valid sets and sequences and discards their last card, they make a valid declaration. 5. Scoring: The declaring player receives 0 points for that round. The points from the remaining unmelded cards in each opponent's hand are tallied and added to the winner's score. 6. Winning: The game continues until a player reaches a pre-agreed point limit or a specific number of rounds are played. Key Features Fast-Paced: The game is known for its speed and quick rounds. Point-Based: The primary objective is to have the lowest score (0 points). Monetary Value: In games played for money, a predetermined monetary value is assigned to each point.
